Camp Quality in China
Guangzhou Childhood Leukemia Study Group
One of the major problems of evaluating the efficacy of treatment for pediatric cancer is the distribution of cases among many hospitals, and the case number in each hospital is relatively small. More important is the diversity of treatment protocols for the oncological diseases among the various hospitals.
In 2002, with the support of Camp Quality Hong Kong, the Guangzhou Childhood Leukemia Study group was formed with six hospitals participating. This is the first multi-centre study for childhood cancer in the Guangdong province, and probably the first in China.
In addition Camp Quality has provided a grant for employing a data manager the past 3 years for collection of patients data at diagnosis and follow up.
The Study group now holds 6 monthly group meetings to discuss the progress of these joint studies, which Camp Quality supports.
