Lawrence
Poon
(Camper Phoebe Poon’s father)
My daughter painted an oil painting
when she took part in the activity
organized by Camp Quality. The painting,
which depicts a Camp Quality hot-air
balloon surrounded by birds, makes
me feel great. I am sure that when
the birds are happy, the children
watching the hot-air balloon will
also be happy.
In fact over the years, the various
indoor and outdoor activities of Camp
Quality have coloured my sick daughter’s
life. Although she has not fully recovered,
she has quickly adapted to school
and family life. Credit should go
to Camp Quality. In Camp Quality’s
monthly calendar, pictures of different
activities are found, including those
of my daughter. These photos have
recorded the battle she fought and
how she has recovered. They show her
from having a pale face and barely
any hair on her head, to having a
boy’s hairstyle, and to the
latest one, in a swimsuit with long
hair.
At Camp Quality, she managed to smile
despite her pain. Looking at pictures
of the staff, companions and children,
all smiling at different stages of
rehabilitation, I realise that to
smile despite the pain, is not easy
at all. It does not matter how long
one lives; life’s value is measured
by whether one can experience the
happiness of life. Camp Quality has
been working so much on this. I hope
that more sick children will be able
to share that valuable smile.
