Martyn
Hits the HK$1 million target
This was the moment that we’ve
all be waiting for to hear, Martyn
has hit the HK$1 million mark! The
final sums were raised from donations
and sponsorship from the Atacama Crossing
race in Chile. This marks an outstanding
achievement for Martyn, who had originally
hoped that he would be able to raise
HK$1 million for Camp Quality after
completing all four races but to be
able to break the target after Atacama;
his third desert race is a indeed
an amazing achievement.

It was definitely an emotional moment
for everyone at Camp Quality including
Martyn and his wife Brenda, who also
helped out as a volunteer for the
Atacama Crossing race and both coincidentally
also celebrated their 25th Wedding
Anniversary together in South America
just after the race.

Susan Wong added: “On behalf
of everyone at Camp Quality, we would
like to say a very big thank you to
Martyn for his tremendous efforts
in reaching the HK$1 million fund-raising
target, it’s been a fantastic
experience for us to follow each of
his race and for him to hit the target
the HK$1 million target after Atacama
is pretty phenomenal – We’re
overwhelmed!

The money, which Martyn has helped
to raise, will go towards providing
year-round care and support for children
with cancer and their families in
Hong Kong. Camp Quality plays an important
role in ensuring those affected by
childhood cancer are able to progress
through treatment and get back to
their life afterwards by providing
a source of motivation, encouragement
and emotional support at our events
and activities throughout the year.
