Our fantastic Anniversary Carnival Fun Day was held last Saturday, on 19th April at the Grand Ballroom of the Gold Coast Hotel in Tuen Mun. We had to moved the whole event indoors due to Typhoon Neoguri hitting Hong Kong, however, nothing could dampen the spirits of the 300 children, companions, doctors and long term supporters of the charity who all came to share the joy and celebrate Camp Quality’s 10 year milestone

Our Carnival kicked off at 11.00am sharp with a warm welcome by our lovely MC, Chui Yee, who herself was one of our first campers who joined us back in 1998. Afterwards there was our cake cutting ceremony with Prof. Patrick Yuen, Ms. Regina Chugani and the Camp Quality staff, followed by a performance of “Happy Birthday” by everyone in the ballroom! After an brilliant buffet lunch, our special guests, popular TVB children artists, Ms. Vicki Tong and Mr. Seto Sui Ki arrived and came to play some exciting games as well as perform some of their songs to the delight of the children. Many of the children particularly enjoyed this session because they were invited on stage to participate and won lots of prizes too!

This was followed by a wonderful magic show put on by the talented Andy Ko and the excitement and fun didn’t stop there, next we had the amazing Azucar Latina Trio who came to perform some excellent Latina music, which went down surprisingly well with all the children and volunteers, with many getting up to dance and sing a-along with the talented Trio!

The atmosphere inside the ballroom was pretty electrifying to say the least and was a stack contrast to the grey windy weather outside!

All the children that attended well home with huge amounts of presents sponsored by Disneyland Hong Kong and Tesco’s Licensing and the event was declared a great success despite Typhoon Neoguri surprising us in April!
