Our 9th annual Children’s Christmas Carnival was held on the 22nd December 2007 at Spices restaurant and lawns in The Repulse Bay and allowed over 280 Camp Quality campers and companions the opportunity to have a wonderful Christmas.

This year’s party was definitely the biggest crowd to date and everyone was easily identified with their red Santa’s helper hats.

Everyone got into the festive spirits with a choir performance by The Tai Po Old Market Public School who performed a variety of popular Christmas carols.

Special thanks and souvenir presentation was given to Mr. Palle Jensen, General Manager of The Repulse Bay who delivered a lovely welcome speech in near perfect Cantonese!

Special recognition was also given to Martyn Sawyer, who through both of his races has raised over $800K for Camp Quality so far and as a token of appreciation both Camper Peace and Companion, Yan Yan presented him with unique Camp Quality souvenirs, which they had made themselves on behalf of Camp Quality.

The Children who attended were able to take part in a variety of festive activities including a stage show featuring a local celebrity magician Eddy Au as well as being invited on stage to perform with local celebrities Mandy and Don from EEG Music. As well as performing their popular hits, each also gave away a signed copy of their latest CD’s as Christmas presents for the children.

There was more amazing presents when Santa appeared - the children gave the “big man” with the red suit the warmest possible welcome when he dropped by. Santa Ramesh gave each and everyone of our 150 children a Swatch watch, which the staff of HSBC private banking had generously purchased with donations collected by the department.

There were also plenty of food and drink courtesy of our friends at The Repulse Bay who have so generously sponsored this fabulous event each year.

With the generosity of the business community and the support of so many sponsors and friends, we can ensure our Camp Quality campers enjoy another fun filled day full of carnival fun, celebrities, magic shows and much, much more. Although its only once a year, our Christmas Carnival is a special occasion for some of these less fortunate children to have some fun during the festive season.

It was a fantastic day and thoroughly enjoyable for all our children, volunteers, sponsors and friends.
