Dim
Sum Making at The Pen
The Peninsula Hotel kindly offered
again some cooking session at their
hotel for our campers this summer.
The kids were all delighted with this
unique opportunity of visiting this
five star establishment and mastering
the art of Chinese dim sum making
from the hotel’s signature Chinese
restaurant, the Spring Moon.
The Children were able to see and
experience the entire process of dim-sum
making within the hotel’s kitchen
including how they are steam or baked.
They discovered the ingredients used
to make them as well as their measurements.
Chef Yip, who supervised the children
throughout the 3 day's event, was
also demonstrating and cooking more
than 4-5 varieties of dim sum for
the kids to try themselves. After
a few minutes demonstration, it was
time to show off their young talents.
Chef Yip was thoroughly impressed
with their abilities and commented
that they were indeed very creative!


While cooking the dim sum was a fabulous
experience, eating them was even better!
The children naturally had a taste
of their own works but all would have
happily taken their portion home for
mom to try!
All the staff ‘s
enthusiasm and warm welcoming were
heart-warming and we would like to

Lamey Chang & Chef Yip for this
memorable event.
