Hong
Kong Disneyland - "What a Magical
Day"!
Camp Quality finally got the opportunity
to visit Hong Kong Disneyland last
Saturday, 30th September with over
220 campers and companions joining
us for this great day out –
Having heard so many comments that
it would be very busy at the Park
with queues lasting more than one
hour for each ride, we were expecting
the worst with it being on a Saturday,
plus the start of the “golden
week” thus Camp Quality had
warned all campers and companions
that it could be a day of long, long
queues.
This still did not dampen the spirits
of the children and everyone came
with the expectations that long lines
and bad weather were things to expect
for the day!! However, once we reached
there, we were all pleasantly surprise
and the saying “All good things
come to those who wait” certainly
apply to us last Saturday or someone
must have been watching us from above!
For some strange reason, the park
was very quiet last Saturday which
meant that we were able to visit all
the attractions and rides without
much of, more than a ten minute waiting
time and what was truly amazing was
that the campers and companions were
able to frequently re-ride their favourite
attractions with virtually no wait!!
There were no long queues for photos
with the Disney characters (normally
unheard of even in weekdays!) to the
delight of the children as they queued
up to have their favourite photo with
the Disney characters.
Admittedly, the Park might be a somewhat
smaller than some of its sister parks
around the world, but to our campers
it was a truly magical place where
they got to experience the true feeling
of magic, dreams, and hopes that one
associates with Disney - Small it
may be but it still has the charm
of Disney and everyone thoroughly
enjoy the aesthetic detail of the
Park

Fantasyland had the favourite “Winnie
the Pooh” ride (some of our
kids went on over 3 times!) which
was beautifully animated, other than
that, it’s here you will find
the big Carousel, Dumbo and the Tea
Cups. Mickey’s Philharmonic
3D show as also great fun too!

Tomorrow land was more suited for
our older campers and its here you
find Space Mountain, Buzz Light-year’s
Astro Blasters animated ride and the
new Autopia.

Adventure land had
the Jungle Cruise and Tarzan’s
Tree house; the Tree house had a fantastic
view of the park and was the perfect
photo opportunity for the kids since
everyone came armed with a camera!
Highly recommend to everyone was
the two shows which was put on throughout
the day at different time slots, The
Lion King was excellent and The Golden
Mickey show was also very good with
Chinese commentary but songs in English
– everyone was just amazed at
how every performance is perfect.

Since it was also the first day
of Disney’s Halloween celebration,
many of the characters were also dress
up in their Halloween costumes. The
kids got to experience a uniquely
Disney Halloween atmosphere with a
giant Mickey pumpkin at the entrance
to the Sleeping Beauty castle with
special Halloween-themed festive lighting
illuminated in Main Street USA as
night falls. A special Halloween night
parade was also put on show for the
first time to the delight of everyone
at the park.

Finally, one worthy mention must
be given to Disney for its “Disney
in the Stars” fireworks extravaganza
- the extraordinary visual effects
with wonderful synchronicity with
Disney songs were truly amazing that
it nearly moved us all to tears!

All in all – A great experience
and plenty of fun for everyone - Thank
you Mickey and the gang - The Camp
Quality children had a blast that
day!!

Camp Quality Hong Kong would like
to thank everyone at Hong Kong Disneyland
for sponsoring and supported this
magical event.
