Mission
Hills Easter Camp
This year’s Mission Hills Easter
Camp have been as successful as ever
with over 165 campers and companions
joining us for this full two day event
to experience the magic of camp.
We had another very big turnout for
this particular camp, thus the need
to have two meeting points in Kowloon
and a total of 4 buses packed full
of excited campers set off early last
Saturday to the Mission Hills resort,
Shenzhen.

After about 1 hour 45 minutes on
the buses from Kowloon, we arrived
at our destination, the Mission Hills
Country Club, the entire Mission Hills
Estate looked absolutely amazing!
Just by first glance, it looked indeed
a wonderful place for both young and
old to relax and have fun!

Under the direction of Camp Commander,
Charles Yang and his team of staff,
once everyone was settled in at the
main function room, our “2007
Mission Hills Easter Camp” commenced
with the opening ceremony. Camp Chief,
Ken give everyone a quick introduction
and orientation of what was expected
of them for the next two days and
our general camping schedule for the
next two days. Everyone was then split
into 6 groups, each team were to come
up with a team name and slogan for
their particular team as well as their
chosen Team Leader.

The competition then begun -After
a few warm up exercises and getting
to know each other, the serious competition
started and each team were enthusiastically
competing to win points for their
particular team.

After lunch, the children later went
through a round of wit-testing orienteering,
which turn out to be like more like
the Mission Hill’s Amazing Race
challenge rather than orienteering!
Throughout the first
day, the weather was particularly
kind to the campers, who were able
to enjoy an array of outdoor fun and
games; some of them took part in Archery,
cycling, tennis, and putting green
practice

It was just amazing to see everyone
participated whole-heartedly and passionately
in all activities and sessions. Everyone
was particularly impressed with all
the kids efforts during the evening
entertainment quiz night. Hands all
went up in the air within seconds
of the questions and everyone was
battling it out to get additional
points for their team!

Sunday started leisurely with more
outdoor ball games, team building
exercises as well as Kite flying and
the opportunity to try your skills
at making some glutinous rice dumplings.
Despite the lack of sleep from the
previous night, everyone still mustered
up his or her spirits to take part
in all the sessions.

After lunch, it was more vigorous
exercise for everyone, the resort
had a big swimming pool and although
it wasn’t at the Country Club,
the resort itself had free shuttle
buses which took everyone, everywhere
inside the resort – the less
active ones went swimming in their
amazing pool while the more active
ones went for an energetic round of
water gun battle fights in the grounds
of the Country Club.

All good things come to an end and
before we knew it, it was time to
say good-bye to this gorgeous resort.
At 4.00pm came the climax of our camp,
it was time to add up the scores and
award the prizes to the team who finished
first and it was the team lead by
camper, Ma Kwok Wing and his “E
Miou” Team.

The Mission Hills Easter camp was
particularly memorable as all the
weekend activities were especially
designed to draw everyone together
uniting them in games, sports, fun
and other activities. The Country
Club complex provided the ideal venue
for our campers and companions to
spend some time together during our
Easter Camp and strengthening their
friendship!
