Hoi
Ha Village & Lai Chi Chong Camp
-Pak Sha O Youth Hostel
Saturday 15th to Sunday
16th July 2006
An enthusiastic group of 30 hostlers
from the C.C.C.I.T.K.D. Cheung Wong
Wai Primary School and 35 of our Camp
Quality campers (ages 12-16 years
old) gathered at our usual meeting
point at Kowloon Tong for 2pm on Saturday
15th July for the start of a weekend
camp at the Pak Sha O Youth Hostel
with a hike to the Hoi Hai 's scenic
Lai Chi Chong.

This was a camp with
a difference though, it was a first
collaboration between two organizations.
One of our companion Mei Ha who was
also a teacher at a local school approached
Camp Quality and suggested the possibility
of an exchange youth adventure camping
program whereby the aim was to give
our campers an opportunity to mix
with another group of local school
children who were of the same age
bracket. The objective of the camp
was to offer both groups with an exciting
program of new outdoor pursuits as
well as encouraging them to try new
and fun activities with each other.
Both groups may have began as strangers
but within a few hours, they soon
became friends! Everything ran nearly
flawlessly apart from the weather,
we were hit by a rather wicked storm
in the evening and had to cancel an
outdoor BBQ! This certainly helped
to enhance everyone’s practical
cooking skills as we can see later
on!!
Below are some hightlights
from July's Adventure camp -

Wonders
you never find on your own....

A great sense of accomplishment

Just
the right amount of physical activity!!
