"Light in the Life batttle" project
(Joint Function with the Prince of Wales Hospital)

On January 1st 2001, Camp Quality Hong Kong held it's first joint function with the Prince of Wales Hospital called "Light in the Life Battle", this function was held at the YMCA in TST. The project's purpose was to encourage and enhance the morale of new cancer patients who are receiving treatment by giving them an opportunity to mix with cancer survivors who fully understand their situation. In the last 20 years, there has been a dramatic improvement in the survival of childhood cancer. It is hope that this type of function will be beneficial to both patients and families as well as the medical staff since it hopes to be able to offer words of encouragement and sharing of experience.

This event was a tremendous success with just under 300 people attending the function at the YMCA. Harry Wong , our mc for the day did an excellent job in entertaining the crowds, the patients variety performance also went down extremely well and the climax of the function had to be the TVB variety show.

The artists sent by TVB did an excellent job in entertaining the children with lucky draws, games and sing-a-along.
