SIOP 2013
Camp Quality was pleased to be able to lend our support to the 45th Congress of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP 2013). Here at Camp Quality, we are fully supportive of the SIOP’s vision that “No child should die of cancer”.
The SIOP Congress gathers medical professionals, parents and survivors from different parts of the world each year to discuss the latest medical advancements in childhood oncology and offer mutual support.
Over 2,000 delegates from around 70 countries attended this four day conference at the Convention Centre in Wanchai on 25th September 2013. Due to the proximity to China, SIOP 2013 also attracted the best turn out to date from its mainland delegates.
We achieved several milestones from this SIOP Congress; we had the opportunity to introduce and update our current programs and services to the people that matter, we attracted many local medical professionals who approached our booth and their willingness to collaborate and support us so that we can offer the best possible assistance to children with cancer and their families was heartwarming. We had the opportunity to share our successes with delegates from less developed countries who wanted to implement similar support programs in their home countries. Finally, we were very pleasantly surprised to have some delegates in attendance who were part of the worldwide Camp Quality family. We met staff from Camp Quality Canada (Manitoba), Camp Quality South Africa and Camp Quality Belgium.
The Congress was a great success and we would like to congratulate Dr. CK. Li and his team of medical professionals for their efforts in successfully bringing this event to Hong Kong for the first time.
