About Camp Quality Hong Kong
What is Camp Quality?
Camp Quality is a support program for children with cancer, originating from Sydney, Australia. The purpose is to provide fun and on excitement for the children (who are often terminally ill) by taking them on camps and organized recreational activities, and thereby also providing respite for their families.
Camp Quality is an international network of support programs operating in over 18 countries, including Hong Kong. In each country the program is operated within the same guidelines as Australia, and is funded locally.
About Camp Quality
Camp Quality is the only year round camping and recreational support program devoted exclusively to children with cancer, and offered at no cost to the children.
Children between the ages of 4 to 18 years old are invited to attend camps and recreational activities held throughout the year. Each child is assigned a volunteer companion who is responsible for looking after the child during camps.
The program brings the children and their companions together, creating fun-filled experiences and memorable moments for all. The children get to meet and spend time with other children who share similar experiences.
The program offers an opportunity for the volunteer companions to help the children by having fun with them and allowing the children to do just what children do best, play! Often during their time with Camp Quality special bondings are created between both the child and the companion.
